We will represent people with SEND โ
- Lived experience reflected throughout the materials
- We don't do performative accessibility
- No accessibility porn, no heroes, no parents speaking on behalf of their kids
We will teach people how to grow an inclusive garden ๐ฟ
Training will plant seeds, and show teachers how to tend the inclusion garden, prune for growth, and bear fruit.
We will ask experts in SEND and inclusion to write the materials ๐ก
What makes someone an "expert"?
- Experience
- Clarity of thinking
- Lived experience
We're looking to work with specialist organisations who work all day with SEND.
We will use established standards to guide our work โ๏ธ
- WCAG 2.2
- Inclusive design principles
- What does evidence look like? What standards are there?
- Double blind 5 year research by post docs
- I tried this and it worked and I wrote a blog post
- Government Design Principles
- DfE Design System
We will expect learners to reflect on their inclusion practice ๐
Assessment and evaluation:
- Reflexive practice for the win
- We're not doing "compliance training"
We will have, and follow, a theory of change
SEN is not a fixed characteristic and can change over time.
